JUNK IN TRUNK
Community Garage sale
SAT, MAY 25
9am – 2pm
Millican Ogden Community Association will host a Junk in Trunk- community garage sale event in the parking lot of Millican Ogden Community centre. Load up your trunk and sell your stuff from the back of your vehicle. You bring the 'junk' and we bring the people! We are looking for individuals who want to sell gently used items they no longer use such as: toys, children’s clothing, tools, furniture, sports equipment, etc. This is truly a yard sale and not a craft or jewelry sale.
“We all know one person’s “junk” is another person’s treasure, so mark your calendar for Sat, May 25, because you never know what treasures are in store for you!”
You may purchase parking spaces to sell their “junk”. Parking spaces will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a two space maximum. The price for one space is $25, and two spaces is $40. All registries will be responsible for additional needs such as tables, chairs, petty cash, etc.
Registration Forms can be found online at www.millicanogdencommunity.com, or phone office 403.279.3973 or email mocaxprs@shaw.ca for registration form

P2S Calgary is our third biennial sustainable communities conference in Alberta and we are thrilled that this experience is now recognized as playing a pivotal role in reframing the important dialogue on sustainability in Alberta. With a province historically dependent upon the sector expansion of oil and gas, sustainability is a paradoxical challenge.
Pathways challenges the perceptions, the ideologies, and reframes the dialogue to be inclusive of industry innovation and leadership, and focuses our attention on the momentum of the transition to “resilience” through integrated solution building. We hope that you will take just a few moments to visit our conference website to learn more about this initiative and the incredible people who come together to create each experience!
Join our Steering Committee, Pathways Ambassadors, and distinguished keynotes on May 29th to show your support for sustainability in Calgary and to meet some of the innovators and change agents that are mobilizing resilient and prosperous local economies in Alberta and across North America!

Bearing a famous surname and musical lineage, Ziggy Marley has established his own presence on stages around the world for over a quarter-century. Marley visits Calgary June 20 for a special engagement to share music infused with love, freedom, hope and courage.
For his appearance at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, Marley will present selections from his latest release Ziggy Marley In Concert, incorporating songs from his Wild and Free World Tour. Expect upbeat and groove-driven tunes, rock-fuelled reggae anthems as well as fan favourites.
If touring the world and sharing his music didn’t keep him busy enough, Ziggy served as executive producer of the celebrated documentary MARLEY (Shangri-La Entertainment), hosts his own monthly radio show, Legends of Reggae on SiriusXM’s The Joint, released his first comic book, Marijuanaman and launched a GMO-free food line called Ziggy Marley Organics.

To call Ms. Spalding the most talked-about jazz musician in a generation seems almost like an understatement, and beside the point: She’s a phenomenon in human form, unbound by the usual strictures of style. ~ The New York Times
Esperanza Spalding is the ultimate jazz chanteuse, serenading audiences in three different languages – English, Spanish, and Portuguese. But on her visit to Calgary she shares songs from her fourth studio album, Radio Music Society, a diverse journey through soul, funk and big-band swing. Due to her amazing musical prowess, Spalding became the youngest instructor at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music at the age of 20, almost immediately after graduation.
Jazz aficionados have been aware of Spalding’s amazing talent since her debut album enjoyed 70 weeks on the Billboard charts. But it was her performance at U.S. President Obama’s Nobel Prize ceremony in Norway in 2009 that put her centre stage, leading to a surprise 2011 Grammy win for Best New Artist. A gifted musician, vocalist and composer, Esperanza Spalding will be right at home in EPCOR CENTRE’s Jack Singer Concert Hall, where she will share her critically-acclaimed jazz.

Not only has the building stood for this long but it has been doing the same thing for ALL of those 100 years - educating our children! The weekend of Oct 4-6, 2013 is confirmed for our celebration. All students, alumni, teachers, staff, administrators (past and present) and anyone connected or interested in this iconic building are invited. Please refer to the website for event details, how to get tickets, photos, classmate information. This is a once in a lifetime event! Help us make it memorable! http://sj100.myevent.com/
