Join us to learn how NEUROFEEDBACK, a modality that has been researched for the past 40+ years, is making a difference in the lives of many and how our programs could make a difference in your life! Psychologist, Dr. Hammer will be discussing how neurofeedback technology allows you to capitalize on your brain's innate ability to change and rewire, helping you to build new, positive neural networks and overcome dysfunctional patterns that impact your physical and psychological well-being. There will be a short presentation about neurofeedback, our two programs (including demonstrations) and Q and A's. Your brain is constantly learning, encoding new information and rewiring. Unfortunately, stress and trauma (be it physical, psychological or emotional) can cause the brain to learn to fire in dysfunctional ways which in turn affect how you feel on function in the world. However, your brain has the potential to change for the better too! Neurofeedback helps your brain learn to do just that. By supporting the brain to learn to calm and regulate certain pathways, neurofeedback allows you to teach your brain to function in ways that help you be your best self. Make sure though to have the time, date and location! Date: Tuesday May 3rd Time: 6:30-8:30 Location: The Business Centre, located at #303-6707 Elbow Dr. SW

Darkness Into Light 5km walk/run is an annual international fundraiser to raise funds for Pieta House and Distress Centre Calgary. Distress Centre Calgary provides 24/7 crisis support on the phone, email, chat, and text. Together with Pieta House, their goal is to raise much-needed funds for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Pieta House is a crisis intervention service in Ireland for those struggling with suicidal thoughts and/or self-harm. In 2015 over 5,000 people came through the doors of Pieta House suffering from suicidal ideation or engaging in self-harm. Beginning at 5am on May 7th, participants make their way around the 5km route in Prince’s Island Park and cross the finish line just as dawn begins to break. In support of our event, the Calgary Tower will be yellow all day. We would like to invite all members of your community to join us for this incredible walk/run in support of positive mental health and suicide prevention. The past year has been tough for many Calgarians. As an organization committed to providing our services to as many kids and parents possible we’ve been troubled by the thought of families missing out on our workshops due to financial constraints. In celebration of Moms and in support of any Calgary families who would benefit from a little help in attending our workshops, we’re offering this Mother’s Day Language of Friendship workshop for half price ($17.50 per person). This workshop, facilitated by GirlPower and GoodGuys founder Dana Kerford, utilizes interactive parent-tween activities to teach parents strategies to help their child put out Friendship Fires™, how to put a voice to their feelings, & the best ways to support him/her through unhealthy friendships. We will also highlight the fascinating similarities and differences between boys & girls and their experiences in friendship. This workshop gives tweens & parents a new “language” for talking about friendship, strengthening their connection and opening up those lines of communication.

Our story begins as all good fairytales do...Once upon a time, there were three children who went for a walk in the woods. Before long, they were lost, and they quickly realized this was no ordinary walk in the woods, for this was an enchanted forest, full of characters and creatures from the wildest parts of their imaginations. With the help of a friendly genie, who they meet along the way, the children are in for an adventure full of music, magic and mayhem as they each have their “Wish: Granted”!
