Dalhousie Community Playschool is a warm and accepting environment for your child to begin their school career. Our dedicated teachers are gifted at recognizing each child as an individual and making them feel worthwhile. Each day includes time in which children are free to explore a wide variety of materials and participate in crafts. They are also introduced to group activities through stories, show and tell, singing and games. Various themes are explored throughout the year and special days such as Beach Day, Pirate Day, Backwards Day and Buddy Night are exciting changes in routine. Special events also include a Christmas Party, field trips and a year end Family Picnic. Access to a large gymnasium and playground allows for regular physical activity. The program runs September through May with school holidays scheduled at the same time as the Calgary Board of Eduction.
We are a parent-run playschool therefore each registered family is required to volunteer for a position. These range from serving on the parent committee to assisting teacher’s as helping hands. We also ask parents to volunteer in the classroom approximately 4 times over the school year. On these days your child gets to be a special helper and you get a chance to participate in the daily activities. It is very rewarding to be a participant in your child’s playschool experience.

¾ Year Old Split Program
· Tuesday and Thursday afternoons - 1:15pm - 3:15pm · $82/month based on half day programs
4 Year Old Program
· Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings - 9:00 am - 11:16 am · Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons - 1:00pm - 3:15pm · $112/month based on half day programs
A membership with the Dalhousie Community Association is required to attend the playschool. ($30. each).
