   Babysitter’s Course

This program is for youths (11 years+).  Certification is given following completion of the program.  The program runs in three sessions from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.

   Beginners Drawing Class

NEW!! This course focuses on equipping you with the fundamental skills for drawing the world around you and is open to artists of all levels but is best suited to those who want to learn or re-fresh their understanding of basic formal drawing techniques.

   Crowfoot Skating Club

Skating lessons are offered in Parent and Tot; Canskate; Figure Skating; Learn to Skate, Can Figure Skate; and Power Skating.  Community Membership is required.  Information sheets are available on bulletin boards at Crowfoot Arena and the Dalhousie Community Centre.

 

  Dalhousie Community Adult Slo-Pitch

NEW!! Adult Slo-Pitch House League.             

Registration for the 2010 Outdoor T-Ball Season is March 4, 2010 at the Dalhousie Community Association.  Community Membership is required for all players.

  Dalhousie Community Playgroup

This playgroup’s objective is to provide a parent-attended program for pre-school children which encompasses a wide variety of experiences that include gross and fine motor activity, imaginative play, exposure to music and rhythm and socialization.  For the parents, the playgroup provides important opportunities for friendship and support.

Dalhousie Community Out of School Care Program

NEW!!  The Dalhousie Community Centre will be opening an Out of School Care program beginning September 1, 2010 with  20 spots available. Priority will be given to students registered in the Dalhousie Community Kindergarten and then to kindergarten students at West Dalhousie and St. Dominic’s Elementary Schools. Children under the age of 4.5 will not be accepted into this program.

Registration will begin on February 1, 2010.

 Dalhousie Community Soccer

Dalhousie Soccer had two hundred and ten players participating in Outdoor Soccer in the 2009 Season in the U4 to U10 House League. 

Registration for the 2010 Outdoor Soccer Season is February 3, 2010 at the Dalhousie Community Association.  Community Membership is required for all players.

  Elizabeth McDougall Guiding

Guiding welcomes all girls (from ages five to 17) to join but we are also always looking for women interested in joining the Girl Guide organization.  If you are interested in joining Guiding or in becoming a leader, call the Girl Guide Centre at 403-283-8348

 

  Karate

Karate is a traditional martial art, which emphasizes character development, self-defence, athleticism and an appreciation for the Japanese Culture.  We work out in a safe environment – in a dance studio, which has a wood spring floor.  This floor helps protect knees from injuries.  Karate is a low key and nourishing experience.  We are a satellite club of the largest nonprofit karate organization in the world.  Interested individuals are encouraged to drop in a give it a try.

One Step Ahead Dance

One Step Ahead has now completed five years of programming at the Dalhousie Community Association.  Operating in Calgary since 1989, One Step Ahead offers dance classes for pre-schoolers, aged three years to teen.  A fully equipped dance studio on the lower level of the Community Centre offers sprung floor, wall mounted mirrors, barres and piano accompaniment for ballet classes.  Programming is available for beginner through to intermediate levels of dancer in ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical dance.  All students participate in the year-end recital held every June at the University Theatre.
