Physical Therapist Dizziness and imbalance are common complaints heard by family doctors. Sometimes dizziness and imbalance are caused by disease or injury affecting the inner ear and/or its connections to the brain. Some physiotherapists, including two providing services through Panther clinics, have taken training in Vestibular Rehabilitation. The “Vestibular System” is that part of your inner ear and its connections to the brain which register movement of our bodies in space. It is involved in keeping us upright and balanced, and able to move.

Physiotherapy of the spine involves an initial evaluation of the patient to determine the nature of the dysfunction and to what extent the patient can assist in their recovery. Manual therapy and mobilization of the spinal joints and tissues, accompanied by appropriate exercises, are designed to restore normal biomechanical motion in the spinal segments. Treatment is individualized, and tailored to each patient's unique needs, with the ultimate goal of achieving independence from treatment.

The TMJ (temporomandibular) is a complicated joint that usually involves a coordinated approach involving several health disciplines. Panther physiotherapists assess the biomenchanical function of the jaw, and subsequent treatments are directed at restoring normal joint motion. This evaluation will also help to determine the extent to which the cervical spine and its associated muscles are impacting TMJ function.

Panther Sports Medicine provides complete assessment and treatment programs for patients who have been involved in work or motor vehicle accidents. This includes reports to insurance companies and physicians, as well as regular reassessments so that the patient can be progressed through to a full recovery in an optimal time period. Our state of the art gym facility allows Panther therapists to help post-Motor Vehicle Accidents patients at each stage of their recovery.
